Holidays to Turkey up 39% 31/05/2005 |

Holiday makers from Europe looking for good weather, good food and a good time are making Turkey the latest and fastest growing holiday hot-spot.
The Government having planned for this growth are delighted that their support for tourism over the last decade is starting to pay-off. Stretching from Marmaris in the West, which has a reasonably mature market to Alanya in the East, the numbers of holiday-makers visiting Turkey this year are at their highest ever and show no signs of slowing down.
The regular holiday charter companies have increased the number of flights this year and many new airlines are starting to fly into Turkey as well. With Air Berlin is already flying in it is also hoped that some of the other scheduled budget airlines will also start soon.
Part of the reason for this growth can be attributed to the low cost of holidays along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. It is not unusual for a family of 4 to enjoy a weeks holiday for as little as 300euros (£200) per person.
Even in the all inclusive 5 star hotels and complexes a week?s holiday in high season will cost under 1500euros (£1,000), and a second week not much more.
Turkey is a country rich in history and natural beauty. There is so much to see and do, and while many are happy to sit and relax at the sea or in a pool, others can choose from the many tours which allow visitors to explore this vast land in greater depth.
